At Advantage, we are devoted to the highest level of care for the clients we get to serve. In light of that commitment, we are only taking clients who are committed to scheduling weekly sessions. If you have questions about any of these options or if you wish to inquire about the services we offer please call (913) 735-6272.

Where is Advantage Counseling?

Advantage Counseling is located near the intersection of College Boulevard and Antioch Road in Overland Park, KS. Our suite is located in the building directly north of Security Bank of Kansas City.

If you park on the east side of the building, you can enter the double doors on the south side of the building, go up to the third floor and turn left as you get out of the stairs or elevator and you will run into our suite.

Our address is:
8575 West 110th, Suite 304
Overland Park, KS 66210

What are your fees?

My rate is $160 for 50-minute individual sessions and $180 for 60-minute couple, marriage, and family sessions.

If we decide to meet longer for a session, I will bill you prorated on the hourly fee. You can see a full list of my rates here.

How do I make an appointment?

You can call (913) 735-6272 for a free phone consultation or you can request a consultation through the contact page.

If I am unable to answer immediately, messages may be left on my voicemail and I will contact you within 24 hours of your call. After we get connected, if we both decide that we would be a good fit together, then we will schedule our first session.

Do you accept insurance?

I do not accept insurance.

I do offer billable receipts or “super bills” that you can turn into your insurance company for potential out of network benefits. However, I cannot guarantee that your insurance company will accept these so, if this is an important factor in your decision for therapy, please check with your insurance company first.

I am more than willing to send you my license number and national provider number if you’d like to check on availability for reimbursement.

How do I pay you?

Cash, Check, Debit, Major Credit Cards, and HSA cards are all acceptable forms of payment.

What if I need to cancel a session?

You are responsible for coming to your session on time and at the time that is scheduled. Your designated hour is yours and will not be given to anyone else. This means that you will pay for your session regardless of whether or not you choose to come.

Your designated hour is your financial responsibility; therefore you agree to pay for your appointment, for the duration of our therapeutic arrangement, regardless of whether you choose to come. You are able to “make up” for cancelled appointments within the week before, during, or after the date of your absence, if our schedules align. I will make every effort to find a time for you.

You are allotted one “free” cancellation per year for each time that you attend per week. (For example, if you attend therapy twice per week, you are given two “free” cancellations.) You are not required to pay for sessions that I cancel. I will make every effort to alert you of my planned vacation times in advance.

What will happen during our initial sessions?

Our first sessions together will be about getting to know your story and what brings you to counseling. I will also tell you a bit about myself including my educational and personal background, the theoretical framework I utilize, and logistical information and paperwork for beginning the therapy process.

How long can I expect to be in therapy?

The length of time a client spends in counseling varies depending upon the problem being addressed, your goals for treatment, and the work done both in session and between sessions.

As a client, you have the right to end therapy at any time, and typically you are the one who decides when therapy will end.
