"From childhood, through my time in the marine corps, to marriage and a career in law enforcement I thought I knew what communication was. But through this workshop I learned a solid foundation of how to understand my wife. I believe the tools included will revolutionize our marriage.”

2024 Participant

"This weekend was such a good investment in our marriage, and we learned some valuable skills I know will serve us for years going forward!"

2022 Participant

"I want to say that (my partner) and I have done our best to do something marriage positive annually since we were married in 1997, whether reading books or attending conferences. Your conference is by far the best we have attended. So good in fact that we are coming back just 6 months later (and are both excited to revisit the material)"

2021 and 2022 Participant

"We found better ways to connect and communicate on topics and ways to stay connected or get reconnected after a fight. 10/10 would recommend.”

2024 Participant

“A designated time to improve our connection. We gained insight into core needs with shared goals and improved relationship.”

2024 Participant

“We discovered tools to slow down and express in more and deeper ways than usual in order to purify our connection. Group experience was positive in that we all bought in and took it seriously and made it easier to learn from and express our own experiences.”

2024 Participant

“We strengthened communication skills to know and understand one another better.”

 2024 Participant

“A safe, inviting space to discuss and learn tools to help navigate the difficulty of relationships.”

About the Retreat

The Building a Lasting Connection® workshop is a couple education program co-developed by Dr. Debi Gilmore, Certified EFT Supervisor, and Dr. Rebecca Jorgensen, Certified EFT Supervisor and Trainer.

The objectives of the workshops are to teach couples, within an active and practice-based setting, how to create and preserve a foundation of secure attachment in their relationships.

With a new understanding of attachment theory and attachment needs, couples will:

  • Achieve a greater understanding of what “romantic love is” and how to maintain and grow it.
  • Learn how to communicate within a systematic framework designed to come to greater understanding and connection.
  • Navigate differences and solve problems together.
  • Discover and practice how to remove communication blocks.
  • How to avoid touch deprivation of both body and soul.
  • Establish a process to set and achieve goals together to guide you past critical relationship periods.

You will leave this weekend refreshed and with tools and concepts that will help your connection to grow.
